We have had to cancel our monthly meetings at the Westmount Library to comply with directives for physical distancing.
During these COVID times, we are having virtual swaps via Zoom two Thursdays each month from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Montreal time-EST. Our September to December schedule is the following:
Sep 10th, Sept 24th, Oct 8th, Oct 22nd, Nov 5, Nov 19th, Dec 3rd, Dec 17th. If you are interested in attending you can write the Guild at firstname.lastname@example.org to request the connection information.
Keep up to date with Guild activities by following us on FaceBook.
Storytelling has been with us since the dawn of humankind. Despite the advent of new technologies – from the printing press to radio, film and the modern computer – the oral tradition has remained an integral part of our cultures and, in fact, is presently enjoying a revival worldwide. The Montreal Storytellers’ Guild has been part of this movement since its foundation in 1990.
We extend an invitation to all adults who may wish to tell a story, or prefer to just listen, to come and share our evenings of traditional and contemporary stories. Members and non-members are welcome, no registration is necessary and admission is by a small donation. We currently meet on the second Thursday of every month, from September to June. In addition, the Guild participates in storytelling events in the community and occasionally sponsors workshops on the art of storytelling. Check the events calendar for upcoming activities.
We hope to see you soon!
