Storytelling has been with us since the dawn of humankind. Despite the advent of new technologies – from the printing press, to radio, film and the modern computer – the oral tradition has remained an integral part of our cultures and, in fact, is presently enjoying a revival worldwide. The Montreal Storytellers’ Guild has been part of this movement since its foundation in 1990.
We extend an invitation to all adults who may wish to tell a story, or prefer to just listen, to come and share our evenings of traditional and contemporary stories. Members and non-members are welcome, no registration is necessary and admission is free. We currently meet on the second Thursday of every month, from September to June. In addition, the Guild participates in storytelling events in the community and occasionally sponsors workshops on the art of storytelling. Check the events calendar for upcoming activities.
We hope to see you soon!
